Crocodile Smile

I gave myself away to you, like a vial of cheap perfume.
From the moment you caught my scent, I knew of my impending doom.
My heart was thumping. I was a rabbit in the grass.
You beckoned, I followed; though your tactics were crass.
I couldn't have valued myself much less.
It seemed like a fun thing to do I guess.
And so I walked into the mouth of the crocodile,
as it seemed so inviting with it's smile.
I was daring myself to feel even for a second,
those piercing teeth through my rabbit skin.
In the last moments of my consciousness,
I wanted to remember this-
relationship of predator and prey.
It was the last embrace; of flying fur and bloody spray.
